Over a surface area of 6400 m² EAC has constructed a reinforced concrete elevated reservoir with a capacity of 8000 m³ and a height of 65 m to provide four residential areas in 6th of October City with potable water.

Project Details

• 2.5 m of the existing sandy loam soil under the reservoir were replaced by clean sand to improve the mechanical properties of the foundation soil.
• The shaft of the reservoir was constructed out of two R.C. shafts with 8.5 and 32 m diameters.
• Slipping form technique was used in the construction of the inner and outer shafts.
• The reservoir bottom slab was casted over a steel formwork which consists of 24 trusses each of 18 m span supported by hydraulic jacks placed over the upper vent of the reservoir shaft.
